Jylland in Denmark

On the half island Jylland in Denmark a food lover can find good things to eat and drink while enjoying the surrounding. In the cozy village Edeltoft you can stroll around and see old houses, nice cafés and restaurants and ship museum.

Outside the village you can taste and buy beer and different fruit and berry juices from the local brewery.

Not far from Ebeltoft is Århus. The city is a cultural center and houses plenty of different art museums and outdoor art installations. The botanical garden is also a nice place to visit. Typical food in Denmark is Smörebröd, a Danish version of tapas. Nordic food and International food is available all over. Children is specially welcome in many restaurants with kids menu and play corner.

In the area there are several amusement parks for instance Lego Land and Djurs Summer Park in Nimtofte. We visited the later during two days. The park holds a water park and lots of attractions for small and big children. I recommend to pack lunch and have a pick nick at the park.

Esbjerg on the south west cost of Jylland have great beaches. Unfortunately the weather wasn't suitable for swimming when we visited. We instead enjoyed a sea museum with seals who gave a great show.

From Esbjerg there is a ferry to the island Fanö. This island also have great beaches, cozy old houses with grass roofing and cafés. The local beer brewery is also worth a visit.
