Pissaladiere - French Onion Pizza

This kind of French onion pizza is perfect for the Easter dinner for 4 persons.

1 kilo onions

3 garlic cloves

1 bay leaf

1 table spoon dried thyme

4 table spoons olive oil

Half a tea spoon salt

Black pepper

1 dl black olives

1 can anchovies in oil

Fresh thyme

Pizza dough




Heat the oven to 225 degrees C.

Peel and slice the onions. Peel the garlic and press or grate the garlic. Heat up the oil in a pan and fry the onion, thyme, bay leaf, salt and garlic on low heat for about half an hour. The onion must not be brown only soft and sweet. Roll the pizza dough out on a tray. Spread the fried onion over the pizza dough evenly. Press softly with a spoon. Decorate with olives and anchovies and pepper. Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Spread fresh thyme over the pissaladiere and enjoy with a glass of red French wine.
